A bedroom does not need to be perfect to feel restorative. A short weekly reset can make your bed look more inviting and help you notice what needs washing, mending, or storing.
Strip and air the bed
Start by removing sheets and pillowcases. If the weather allows, open a window for a few minutes while you work. Letting the mattress and pillows air briefly can make the whole room feel fresher.
Wash the essentials
Wash sheets and pillowcases on the care-label setting. If you use a duvet cover, include it in your regular rotation. Comforters, quilts, and decorative throws can often be washed less frequently unless the label or a spill requires otherwise.
Refresh the mattress area
Vacuum around the bed, straighten the mattress protector, and rotate the mattress when your manufacturer recommends it. Wipe down the bedside table and remove clutter that has accumulated during the week.
Rebuild the bed in layers
Make the bed with clean sheets, then smooth the duvet or comforter. Arrange pillows from larger to smaller and fold a throw at the foot of the bed if you use one. The aim is not showroom perfection; it is a bed that makes rest feel easier.
